Happy Tuesday y'all! So this week's info is quick and easy. Do you know why it's important to state whether the pattern was written in Imperial (US) measurements or metric? Simply because the conversation rates and rounding make a BIG difference on the finished piece!

Converting inches to centimeters: 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters
Converting centimeters to inches: 1 centimeter = 0.3937008

Can you imagine the difference if you didn't know and converted the wrong way? By stating it upfront it allows the maker to convert if needed.
If you ever need someone to talk to about a design idea, help with reviewing a submission, or working through the design process prior to going to the publication tech editor, I'm here to help you in any way I can to embrace your dream of being in print!
Also, if you see any submission calls anywhere, feel free to shoot me an email or a DM and let me know so that I can include it in the next newsletter!
Furls Crochet has put out a submission call for the Crochet Foundry Magazine, Spring 2022 edition. This particular call went out via email this week. There is a link on the bottom of their web post where you can sign up to receive submission call emails, so I'd suggest signing up if you want to be in "the know" next time. It looks like yarn support is from WeCrochet and hook support from Furls. Might be a fun way to try a Furls beauty out huh?

DEADLINE: FRIDAY, AUGUST 13, 2021

From their email:

Our friends over at Crochet Foundry are opening up submissions for the Spring 2022 issue of Crochet Foundry Magazine!

They're looking for a variety of projects; not only garments, but accessories, home decor, and more!

Does this sound like you or someone you know? Don't miss the Friday, August 13th deadline.
