There are two core beliefs I hold for working with ANY designer.
The first core belief I hold is I believe you and I are a TEAM. We both want your pattern to be the very best that it can be at the time of publication.
The second core belief I hold is I believe in your full autonomy over your pattern. All edits I make are in a suggestion format, and it is up to you to accept them or not. I will give the reasoning for each change (spelling, consistency, formatting, etc), but it is up to you whether or not you make the changes. I may return a lot of edits the few times we work together, but they go down and I promise it is from a place of love and wanting this to shine.
Going hand in hand with your full autonomy, I believe in maintaining your “voice” as the designer. There are so many ways to write the same thing – Sc, SC, sc, Sc1, SC1, sc1, Sc 1, SC 1, sc 1. One of the things that makes you unique as a designer is maintaining your voice. I value that, and want to help you keep your voice.
I believe in support! This means supporting you – the designer – through the process of writing the pattern, which is HARD! Whether it’s talking out a problem, bouncing ideas around, seeking clarification, I’m here for you. I love supporting both designers and makers. I believe a well-written pattern helps both. Makers who understand the pattern well have fewer questions, and are more excited to create the make and show it off!
